I'm sorry but...

..does anyone else think that perhaps we pay way more attention to artists than we need to? Today I woke up to see the unfortunate news involving Lily Allen, but I'm kind of put off by it. Do we really need to know all this information about artists? When I'm reading a site I want the news about the artist's music, not the intimate details of their lives. If the artist wants us to know this, they have multiple avenues through which they can do that. Granted, anything that happens to an artist can affect their music, but I really don't need to know about their personal lives.

I want to read, "X artist records upcoming album in the woods." I don't want to read about how they bought gas on their trip there.

Enough with rants. Onto music.

Andrew Bird made a lot of people's lists this year. And rightfully so. But I'm listening to his older album, Weather Systems, and its really good as well. I don't think it's consistently as good as Armchair Apocrypha, but it has some great songs on it (even despite lacking such a cool album name). The songs on Weather Systems aren't half as dressed up as they are on Armchair Apocrypha, but sometimes I tire of all the nice whistling and whatnot. There's not a lot to this song, but the buildup is well worth it.

Andrew Bird - Don't Be Scared

In other news, Andrew Bird uses Crest toothpaste.*

*This statement is probably false, but I bet if I put that as the title of this post hits would go through the window.
